Keeping Pets Cool and Energy Bills Low

Keeping Pets Cool and Energy Bills Low

You want your pets to be comfortable — you want your energy bills to be low. This simple and common problem is something we encounter frequently at Right Away Heating. Many pet owners are conflicted with turning their AC down during the working day or keeping their home comfortable to satisfy their pet’s needs. Choosing between the two can be challenging, but luckily there are number of inexpensive solutions to keep your animals cool this summer. In this article, Right Away Heating will share three ways to keep tails wagging this summer.

Create Shade

Animals are surprisingly adaptable when it comes to their surroundings. For example, if you create a shaded area in your house, your pet will seek it out. Take a small amount of time to cut-out a cardboard box for your cat or create a comfortable, shaded area for your dog. Your pet will be appreciative of their new found shade.

Hydration is vital for all living things. Providing plenty of cool drinking water for your pet is one of the best ways to combat the summer heat. Before leaving for work leave a bowl of water for your pet along with a bowl of ice. Your pets will be happy to have ice-cold drinking water by midday.

Chill Flooring

If you plan on leaving your pets in a gated area, choose a spot with chill — cool — tile flooring. Tile floors naturally stay cool longer, not to mention they are far easier to clean than carpets. Allow your pets access to the most naturally temperate areas of your home. This simple step should help keep your animals feeling well.
